The  JCDXA (Jersey Coast DX Assoc.) chapter 1 of the NADXA held their first Hamfest  September, the 13th, 2009  ...

It was a huge success.. Vendors came, buyers came and others, hams and civilians, alike... they all enjoyed the day. It was to have ended about 10:30 am, but both, vendors and buyers were still milling about till  past 12:00 noon.  (go figure.)

The food, via N2MEL, Mel our cook, did a great job. On the menu was Taylor Ham,Egg & Cheese on hard roll sandwiches, Buttered Rolls, Muffins, Coffe, Tea, Soda & Water. It was mostly breakfast cause we thought it would be over by 10:45. .... it was'nt. So next years menu will be better, ya know, also include hamburgers, hot dogs, sausage, etc..

Frank, W2XYZ and Arnold, AB2N did parking and talk-in. They also helped with the sale of tickets for vendors and door prizes. Bill, NJ2H did a great job selling the 50/50 tickets. Mike, KC2Q tried to help wherever he was needed.

There were three door prizes, first winner was Paul, WB2HHH. He won a $25 gift cert. courtesy of the ARRL. Second winner was Tony, KA2ZSI. Also a $25 gift cert. via ARRL, and the third winner was, again, Paul, WB2HHH. (What are the odds of that?)  Only this time it was a $50 gift cert.

The 50/50 was won by someone who had to leave before it was called, but was picked-up by a friend. The winner was Bob, KG2IK for a total of $74.00 and was obtained by Joe, KC2LFF.

All in all, it went smooth, and turned out to be very very successful.

See next years dates (at Hamfests pg.) and mark your calender !

By the way, hope many of you enjoyed Field Day June 26,27, 2010. I spent my time with the Disney D.E.A.R.S. (Disney Emergency Amateur Radio Service) at Walt Disney World, Florida. www.wd4wdw.org. I hope to have some pics for this web to show soon.

If you made contact with them on Field Day get their E-QSL card, it's got Mickey on it.

I am aware that some Florida hams are considering joining the NADXA and perhaps a Central Florida Chapter as well..... We wish them all Gud Luk.
